With over £500 million of public and private sector investment attracted into the area over the last five years, Darlington is undergoing one of its most exciting periods of growth!

Recent developments include:-

  • the £38m National Biologics Manufacturing Centre which will support the growth of the UK's biologics industry;

  • a £30m residential development at Central Park centred around a high quality park, providing 350 new family homes within a five minute walk to the Town Centre and Bank Top Station;

  • the opening of the £6.6m 'Business Central' - a state of the art office building in the heart of Darlington providing the perfect location for both new and established businesses;

  • the £30m re-development of Feethams, a prime town centre site, to create a state of the art leisure complex featuring a nine screen multiplex cinema, an 80 bedroom hotel, as well as a number of national and independent bars and restaurants making it a hub of leisure activity;

  • a 650 space Multi Storey Car Park adjacent to the Feethams leisure development will also provide space for up to 100,000 sq ft of office and leisure space;

  • the £8m new build Department for Education building in the centre of Darlington - retaining 400 employees in Darlington;

  • the re-development of a 20 acre site at Yarm Road Interchange to provide industrial units on one of Darlington's busiest arterial road routes.  The scheme also includes a four storey Travelodge containing 60 bedrooms complete with 4,000 sq ft of retail/restaurant space and a Toby Inn;

  • the development of a £13m Teesside University Campus on Central Park.
