National Horizons Centre

Further opportunities for digital businesses within Darlington are quite literally "on the horizon with" with the establishment of the National Horizons Centre (NHZ) on Central Park in 2018.  The NHZ will harness Teesside University's leading edge expertise in digital technologies - working with Digital City and the Digital Catapult, manufacturing companies and their supply chains, digital businesses and academics to develop creative digital solutions to industry challenges.

Providing the the full range of skills for bio-industry nationally and internationally, it will also specialise in applying digital technologies for improved performance and productivity in bio-industry and the wider advanced manufacturing sector.

Provision will include graduate skills in big data, virtual reality and visualisation technologies; manufacturing efficiency, product quality and training services using ICT solutions.  The Centre will host an open innovation space for collaborative project development using data analytics, modelling and simulation, visualisation, process improvement and control.
